Biography
Maximilian Khevenhüller-Metsch is a pianist, conductor and composer who grew up in Austria and Spain. Having made a start on piano at a young age, he also developed an early interest in musical composition. Studies in Physics and Mathematics took him to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich), and later, his studies in musical composition to the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
Apart from having won several prizes in national and international competitions, he has performed on Spanish television (TVE) in Cádiz, as well as in venues such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Viennese Hofburg, the Konzerthaus in Klagenfurt, the Auditorio Nacional de Música de Madrid, the Teatro Monumental de Madrid, and the Wigmore Hall, i.e.
Another of Maxi’s great interests is film music. He has participated in masterclasses on film composition techniques under prominent composers such as Christopher Young and Hans Zimmer. Some of his film scores were recorded by the Varna State Opera orchestra under Derek Gleeson in the Bulgarian National Radio Studio. In 2018, he worked as an arranger for Aleksey Igudesman and 2019 at the film music archive from Hollywood in Vienna under Martin Brandl.
After having finished his postgraduate studies in collaborative piano at the Royal Academy of Music in London last summer (2023) under Michael Dussek and Joseph Middleton, he is currently working in Madrid both as an orchestral and choral assistant conductor under Jose María Álvarez, and as artistic subdirector at MUSIC'us. Besides, he still performs internationally as a chamber pianist and accompanist.

Projects
Besides
his activities as a solist and conductor, Maximilian is also an active
chamber musician in diverse formations. His regular chamber music
partners include the pianists Kit Armstrong and Clara Isabella Siegle, the violinist Muriel Oberhofer ("Duo Turico") and the cellist Fermín Villanueva.
As a chamber musician, Khevenhüller has performed in the UK, Austria,
Spain and Greece in prestigious venues such as the Wigmore Hall in
London and the Musikverein in Vienna. The season 2024/25 will
include chamber music performances in Madrid, Paris and Vienna as well
as duo performance in the "Trigonale" Festival in Austria. Maximilian also regularly collaborates with the "Fundación operística de Navarra", performing with opera singers in song and aria projects.
